The Russian Embassy responded to US accusations of a security crisis

US Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman's claim that RUSSIA has caused a security crisis is a reversal of facts. This was stated in the press service of the Russian Embassy in the United States on Twitter.

“The statement by US First Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman about the “security crisis caused by Russia” is in the best traditions of the American administration. U.S. officials often turn facts upside down.

The diplomatic mission noted that such statements are reminiscent of the "groundless accusations" of former US Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel, who in 2014 said that Russia "with its modern and efficient army is on the threshold of NATO."

Sherman previously tweeted that Russia has caused a security crisis and the US is calling for a de-escalation and response to that crisis. “I briefed the North Atlantic Council on yesterday's discussions with Russia at the strategic stability talks in Geneva. The United States is determined to work closely with our allies and partners in calling for de-escalation and a response to the security crisis caused by Russia,” she said.
