Sanctions against Russian individuals and legal entities, which were imposed by the US authorities on July 9 , are a confrontational step, Anatoly Antonov, Russia's ambassador to Washington, said on FACEBOOK.

“This is another confrontational step in Washington's deliberate efforts to limit the access of domestic enterprises to high-precision technologies from abroad. This fundamentally contrasts with the statements of the United States authorities, including during the Geneva summit, about the need to normalize the entire range of bilateral relations,” Antonov wrote.

According to him, the United States did not provide any specific details regarding exactly what violations were identified, and called the violations themselves “probable”.

Earlier, on July 9, the United States placed three Russian companies and three Russians on the sanctions list due to alleged attempts to purchase goods of American origin "for activities contrary to US national security and foreign policy interests." In particular, companies from RUSSIA have been purchasing electronics that are "likely to be used in Russian military programs," Washington said.
