Russian Xbox users are having trouble logging into their accounts

Some users of Xbox game consoles from RUSSIA on Friday night encountered a failure when logging into Russian accounts. When you try to log in to your account, an error appears with the text: "You are in a region where this service is not available." Some of the users were helped by changing the DNS (Domain Name System, or domain name system), but many still cannot log in, follows from the comments of the gaming community.

MICROSOFT , the owner of Windows and one of the largest gaming platforms, Xbox, suspended operations in Russia shortly after the start of the military operation in Ukraine , at the beginning of last March. Already in early June, the company sent out a message in which it confirmed its intention and indicated: “We will continue to fulfill existing obligations under contracts with Russian customers, but the suspension of new sales remains in effect,” wrote BLOOMBERG . 

The company also limited (but returned three months later) the ability to install Windows 11 for Russians, stopped warranty service for all Xbox consoles in Russia, and removed Russian servers that speed up content downloads. Microsoft's operating expenses due to the curtailment of work in Russia amounted to $126 million, according to the company's annual financial report.

Against the background of Microsoft's withdrawal from Russia, the demand for "boxed" versions of games for the PlayStation and Xbox has increased in the country due to the restrictions of online stores of console manufacturers.
