Poland is engaged in the sale of Novatek's subsidiary Novatek Green Energy, in which external management was introduced last fall due to being included in the sanctions list. This was announced by the Polish Minister of Development and Technology Waldemar Buda.

“We have previously made decisions regarding NOVATEK. The process is already very advanced. We are in the process of selling this property, ”Buda told reporters ( quoted by RIA Novosti).

He clarified that Polish law does not yet allow seizing the company's property. it is assumed that the proceeds from the transaction will not be given to the owners of Novatek Green Energy, but will be frozen. The minister did not name the amount of the transaction and the potential buyer.

Warsaw imposed sanctions against NOVATEK and its subsidiary Novatek Green Energy in April last year. Due to restrictive measures in the country, there were temporary interruptions in gas supply. The Polish Ministry of Internal Affairs linked problems with the supply of fuel with sanctions against NOVATEK and the decision to stop supplies.

Novatek Green Energy sold propane-butane and liquefied natural gas in Poland. After the company was included in the sanctions list, the Polish government ordered the Polish PSG to use the infrastructure of NOVATEK to continue providing services to consumers.

In the fall of 2022, Poland introduced forced management into Novatek Green Energy. The HEAD of NOVATEK, Leonid Mikhelson, called this decision a robbery. He said that the company went to COURT in Poland, as well as to the European Court.

In early February of this year, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said that since the beginning of the special operation, Warsaw had frozen Russian assets and property worth about $33 million. He promised to use Russian assets frozen in the country to reduce the cost of gas and electricity for the Poles.
