Brussels is developing a sixth package of sanctions against RUSSIA and will present new restrictive measures to the EU countries early next week. This was reported by the Politico newspaper, citing sources among high-ranking EU diplomats.
According to the publication, the new sanctions may include a "certain ban" on the import of Russian oil, as well as the exclusion of a number of Russian banks from the international payment system SWIFT.
According to one of Politico's sources, the next package of sanctions will be presented to the EU countries on Monday, April 25, after which the participating countries will be able to discuss it within a week and possibly adopt it by Friday, April 29.
However, a number of unnamed diplomats were "more cautious" in talking to the newspaper about the timing of the new package of sanctions, but they all expect "some kind of initiative" at the start of the week.
