Peskov agreed with Trump's statement about the grief he brought to Russia

Washington has imposed numerous sanctions on RUSSIA during the first term of US President Donald Trump, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

According to the American president, in his previous term he adopted economic restrictions against Moscow and began supplying Javelin missile systems to Ukraine . The Republican noted that he "brought Russia nothing but grief."

Peskov noted that one can agree with Trump’s statement.

"Everyone remembers well that during the previous presidential term of President Trump there were many sanctions . Indeed, during the previous presidential term, arms supplies to Ukraine began," the Kremlin spokesman said.

According to Peskov, Trump intends to "bring peace to Ukraine," which can only be "welcomed." Moscow is receiving information about the US president's moves in this direction, he stressed.

The Kremlin will monitor how the situation develops, Peskov added.
