Sanctions against RUSSIA, including against the leadership of the country, which the United States is considering, could lead to a complete cessation of relations between the countries, "which will not be in the interests of either Moscow or Washington." This was stated in an interview with CNN by the press secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov.
Such actions on the part of the United States would be "a big mistake," he said. Peskov invited the country's authorities to "remember at least some example of a situation where sanctions helped solve their problem" (quoted by RIA Novosti).
Earlier, a spokesman called the imposition of likely restrictions against President Vladimir Putin "an outrageous measure." According to him, the Kremlin evaluates the statements about new sanctions negatively, but Russia is ready for them and "will do what is best in the interests of our country."
