NOVATEK's division in Poland is ready to resume deliveries, the company's press service told RBC.
Earlier, several regions of Poland were left without gas due to sanctions against NOVATEK, after which Warsaw obliged the company to transfer gas infrastructure.
In response to a request from RBC, NOVATEK noted that the current situation in Poland "is impossible to comment" and the company "will protect its interests within the framework of the current legislation."
“Our division in Poland is ready to resume deliveries as soon as possible. In the current situation, end consumers should not suffer,” NOVATEK said in response to a question whether the company would provide access to its infrastructure to Polish companies so that they could supply gas to related regions.
Poland obliges NOVATEK to transfer gas infrastructure Business
On April 26, the Polish Interior Ministry imposed sanctions against a number of Russian individuals and legal entities, including against NOVATEK and its subsidiary, Novatek Green Energy, which sells liquefied natural gas (LNG) in Europe. After that, several dozen communes (this is the smallest administrative-territorial unit of Poland) were left without gas, Pavel Shefernaker, deputy minister of internal affairs of the republic, said on April 28. According to him, the gas infrastructure in these areas belonged to NOVATEK, which suspended supplies after the imposition of sanctions.
The communes of Mescisko and Zaguruw in western Poland, as well as the city of Leba on the Baltic Sea coast, were left without gas, TVN24 reported. Residents of these areas were left without heating and hot water.
