NHK learns of Tokyo's plans to tighten sanctions against Moscow and Pyongyang

The Japanese government has decided to strengthen sanctions against RUSSIA and the DPRK due to the development of their cooperation, NHK TV channel reports.

Japan has already imposed a number of sanctions on North Korea and Russia, including import and EXPORT restrictions and asset freezes.

Now the government is discussing, in particular, expanding the asset freeze on both countries. The country's authorities argue that military cooperation between North Korea and Russia has a serious impact on peace and security in Europe and violates international law.

The TV channel cites the sending of North Korean troops to the special military operation zone as the main reason. This was previously stated by the US State Department , where they said that over 10,000 North Korean soldiers had arrived in eastern Russia, most of whom were deployed near Kursk.

Neither Moscow nor Pyongyang confirmed the data on the troop transfer. In early November, the North Korean Foreign Ministry confirmed that Russia was providing military assistance in the conflict in Ukraine , without specifying how exactly the DPRK authorities were helping the Russian army.
