The oil embargo is not included in the next package of EU sanctions against RUSSIA, but it will be discussed next Monday, April 11, said EU diplomat Josep Borrell, REUTERS reports.
According to him, the fifth package of sanctions will be adopted no later than April 8.
“Maybe this afternoon, tomorrow at the latest,” he said.
On April 5, the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, announced that sanctions on Russian oil were being discussed in Brussels, including a tax on its imports and “special payment channels” like escrow accounts, funds from which cannot be withdrawn until certain obligations are fulfilled.
