
US Deputy Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland flew to Moscow for talks with Russian officials, RIA Novosti reports.
Nuland arrived at Moscow's Domodedovo airport, the diplomat was met by US Ambassador to RUSSIA John Sullivan.
The US State Department announced on October 8 that Nuland would come to Moscow. As reported by the US authorities, she will discuss with representatives of Russia the relations between the two countries, as well as issues of the global and regional level. After that, the diplomat should go to Beirut and London.

On October 9, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova confirmed that the US Deputy Secretary of State would come to Moscow, specifying that Nuland would meet with officials and hold talks with domestic diplomats. Later, the press secretary of the HEAD of state, Dmitry Peskov, said that the official would meet, in particular, with the assistant to the Russian president, Yuri Ushakov. In addition, a TASS source in the administration of the head of state, as well as a source from RBC, said that Nuland would meet with Dmitry Kozak, deputy head of the presidential administration of Russia.
