Israel and Hamas agree to a ceasefire
The Israeli government voted for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. A spokesman for the Palestinian organization Hamas confirmed that a "mutual and simultaneous" truce in Gaza will come at 2:00 Moscow time on Friday night.
In the Gaza Strip and the Palestinian territories, thousands took to the streets to celebrate the ceasefire. Fireworks were set off in the Palestinian city of Ramallah, some firing guns into the air. However, Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki said that the country's authorities consider the usual ceasefire insufficient. He recalled that the conflict was provoked by the situation of Muslims in Jerusalem and the eviction of Palestinian families in some parts of the city. The Foreign Minister pointed out that these problems must be resolved. According to one version, pressure from Washington contributed to the ceasefire. According to CNN interlocutors, during the last telephone conversation with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday, Joe Biden"adopted a more 'straight, frank and impartial' tone than during any of their previous conversations since taking office" and for the first time set a time frame for Netanyahu to establish a truce with Hamas. In the coming days, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken will HEAD to the region to deal with the conflict.Who will leave the Federation Council
In September, after a single voting day, many senators will leave the upper house of the Federal Assembly. All of them represent legislative assemblies of the regions and have not registered for the regional primaries of United RUSSIA (registration ended on May 14). This means that senators who left the Federation Council will not be able to take part from the party in elections to the legislative assemblies of their regions, unless the decision to include them in the lists of candidates is later taken by the regional conference of the party.
