The US Treasury has classified the Wagner PMC as a transnational criminal organization, according to a press release on the agency's website.

In addition to participating in a special operation in Ukraine, the PMC "destabilized the countries of Africa." The company "creates a transcontinental threat," according to Washington.

The US Treasury re-introduced PMC Wagner to the sanctions list, and also imposed sanctions against people and structures associated with it: Alexander Ivanov, Valery Zakharov and Africa Poilitology (the latter, as explained in the ministry, is associated with the founder of PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin).

Last week, White House National Security Council strategic communications coordinator John Kirby warned that Washington would classify the Wagner PMC as a transnational criminal organization and impose additional sanctions against it.

Prigozhin then said that now "finally Wagner PMC and the Americans are colleagues." “From now on, our relationship can be called “showdown of criminal clans,” he said.
