Chinese Foreign Ministry vows to support Russia amid US sanctions

Beijing opposes unilateral sanctions and threats of their application. This was stated by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin, commenting on new US sanctions against RUSSIA during a briefing , Sina reports.

"We oppose the arbitrary application of unilateral sanctions or the threat of their use," Wenbin said.

According to him, CHINA and Russia maintain a comprehensive partnership with each other and will provide support in protecting state sovereignty.

In mid-April , US President Joe Biden imposed new sanctions on Russia. In particular, more than 30 individuals and companies that are accused of trying to interfere in the last presidential election in the United States and other hostile actions fell under the restrictions. Eight individuals and legal entities were included in the sanctions list in connection with Crimea. Washington also announced the expulsion of ten Russian diplomats from the country.
