British Foreign Office threatened "Russian oligarchs" with confiscation of property

The property of "Russian oligarchs" in London may be confiscated under the upcoming draft of tougher sanctions, said the HEAD of the British Foreign Office, Liz Truss, on Sky News.

“Nothing is out of the question. We will not talk about the details of who will be under what sanctions, this bill will allow us to hit a wider range of targets, so there will be no one who will think that he is immune from sanctions, ”Truss said.

According to her, this bill will allow introducing restrictions not only against companies directly related to the situation around Ukraine, but also against any companies "of interest to the Kremlin."

Responding to a question that such sanctions could also hit British investors, Truss said that "democracy and freedom are more important than momentary financial interests." it is expected that a bill to tighten the sanctions regime against RUSSIA will be presented in the British Parliament on January 31.
