The UK was, is and will be an enemy of RUSSIA until it "goes into the abyss of the sea from the wave created by the latest Russian weapons system," Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev wrote on his TELEGRAM channel, commenting on London's sanctions against the judge and security officials because of the case of oppositionist Vladimir Kara-Murza (recognized as a foreign agent).
“The composition of the Russian COURT, which considered cases of grave crimes against our citizens, fell under the sanctions, and a little earlier, the ambassador of this country was yapping something in front of our court building,” Medvedev said.
He expressed the opinion that the British authorities believe in their own exclusivity and that the sanctions will be a "terrible punishment" for Russian officials.
“However, do not care about their decisions. Britain was, is and will be our eternal enemy. In any case, until their impudent and disgustingly damp island goes into the abyss of the sea from the wave created by the latest Russian weapons system,” Medvedev wrote.
On April 17, the Moscow City Court sentenced Kara-Murza to 25 years in a strict regime colony on charges of treason and fakes about the army. The oppositionist pleaded not guilty and stated that he was being persecuted for his political views. The United States , CANADA, Britain and the European Union criticized Moscow because of the verdict . The Foreign Ministry, in response, called the ambassadors of Western countries and expressed their "strong protest", calling the statements about the court's decision interference in the internal affairs of Russia.
On April 21, the UK announced sanctions against five Russians who, according to London, were involved in the "poisoning and arrest" of a politician and a journalist. Similar restrictive measures against ten Russians were taken by Latvia. Even before the verdict, sanctions were imposed by the United States over criminal cases against Kara-Murza.
