Russia's military actions as part of a special operation in Ukraine are unacceptable, said French presidential candidate, chairman of the "National Association" Marine Le Pen during the final televised debate with the current French leader Emmanuel Macron.
Pensions, the army and the veil: what are the French presidential candidates arguing about Politics
“My solidarity and my absolute compassion is with the people of Ukraine. A Russian invasion, an attack on Ukraine is unacceptable,” Le Pen said on the France 2 TV channel, noting that Macron’s efforts to establish peace deserve support. According to her, Paris should provide Ukraine with humanitarian and financial assistance, as well as supply defensive weapons. “But we need to be careful. The supply of (offensive-RBC) weapons could turn France into an ally in the war. That's the problem," Le Pen said.
The leader of the National Association also added that she agreed with all the sanctions that were imposed on Russian oligarchs and banks. The only sanctions she does not agree with are the ban on the import of Russian oil and gas, as this is the wrong method, Le Pen continued. According to her, this measure will affect not so much RUSSIA as the French people. “I fear that this will throw Russia into the arms of CHINA , and in the future it will be such a close alliance that they will become a superpower economically, in terms of money or even militarily. This could be a huge risk for the West, Europe and France,” Le Pen said.
