Macron supported sanctions against Russian energy resources

Europe should introduce new sanctions against RUSSIA because of the events in the Ukrainian Bucha, French President Emmanuel Macron said in an interview with France Inter.

According to him, the new sanctions should be aimed at coal and oil products from Russia.

“We will coordinate with European partners in this. I support the sanctions that will affect oil and coal,” Macron said, adding that he does not exclude the adoption of unilateral measures by France against Russia.

At the same time, Macron admitted that limiting or refusing to supply oil and gas from Russia “would be extremely painful” for France.
