France will face "difficulties of unprecedented proportions" in the energy sector due to the abandonment of nuclear energy and the "geopolitical mistake" of the government, said the opposition politician, the HEAD of the right-wing National Front party, Marine Le Pen, reports BFM.
She said that Paris had joined the "hysteria" of the European Union because of the special operation in Ukraine, and called the EU sanctions "inappropriate and thoughtless."
Le Pen has previously criticized the sanctions policy against Moscow more than once. In her opinion, restrictive measures are detrimental to the French themselves, and RUSSIA is only being made richer. In April, she called Russia's rapprochement with Europe "an important condition for ensuring the security" of France and the entire continent. At the same time, the politician considers the actions of the Russian military in Ukraine unacceptable.
The energy crisis in France and other European countries is caused by rising gas prices against the backdrop of a special operation in Ukraine, sanctions imposed because of it and retaliatory restrictions from the Russian side. Europe fears that Gazprom will completely cut off gas supplies.

On Sept. 1, the company suspended deliveries to French energy company Engie due to non-payment in July under a new ruble-billed scheme designed by Moscow for "unfriendly states."
