Crimean Railway responded to Canadian sanctions

Canadian sanctions against the Crimean Railway (KZhD) enterprise will not affect its work. RBC was informed about this by the press service of the enterprise.

“The Crimean Railway is functioning stably, without stopping the repair and travel campaigns, passenger and freight traffic. Restrictive measures do not affect the prospects for the development of the enterprise," the press service said.

Canada imposed new sanctions against Russians and companies because of Crimea Politics

The company added that the KZD is ready to build new platforms and railway crossings, to build a railway line to the airport, as well as to launch the City Electric Train project in Sevastopol.

On the eve of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Canada announced new sanctions against Russians and companies in connection with the annexation of Crimea to Russia. Two individuals and four legal entities fell under the restrictions. In addition to the Federal State Unitary Enterprise Crimean Railways, the sanctions list includes Berkakit-Tommot-Yakutsk Railway Construction Administration JSC, Crimean First Insurance Company, Lenpromtransproekt JSC, as well as the General Director of Grand Service Express (railway operators with Crimea) Alexander Ganov and the head of Mostotrest Leonid Ryzhenkin.
