Kremlin responds to Trump's ultimatum with words about immunity to sanctions

Peskov said that the Russian economy continues to function under "a huge number of sanctions" and has developed "a certain immunity" to them. Trump shortened the deadline for settling the conflict in Ukraine to 10 days the day before Donald Trump

The Kremlin is recording US President Donald Trump's statements about settling the conflict in Ukraine, the Russian president's press secretary Dmitry Peskov told reporters .

"We have been living under a huge number of sanctions for quite a long time, and our economy operates under a huge number of restrictions. Therefore, of course, we have already developed a certain immunity in this regard. We continue to record the statements that come from President Trump and other international representatives on this matter," he said.

On July 29, Trump set a new deadline for RUSSIA to end the conflict with Ukraine — 10 days. The previous one — 50 days — was in effect from July 14. After this deadline, the US president promised to impose secondary tariffs on Russia and its trading partners “about 100%.” At the same time, he emphasized that these measures may not have an impact on Moscow. “But we are going to impose tariffs and other measures that you impose. it may or may not affect them. But it is possible,” Trump said.

At the same time, the HEAD of the White House noted that he had not received any reaction from Russia to the reduction of the term of his ultimatum on the settlement in Ukraine. “And this is regrettable,” he added.

The Kremlin said it had taken his words into account and declared Moscow's commitment to a peaceful resolution of the conflict.

The US President stressed that he is not concerned about the possible consequences of new sanctions against Russia for global oil markets: "No, I don't care. We have so much oil in our country. We will increase oil production."
