Moscow will respond to the actions of the Czech Republic if the decision to freeze Russian state assets is formalized, presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said at a briefing.
“Here we need to analyze what the Czechs have here, of course, in the event of <...> the formalization of unfriendly steps, of course, a possible answer will be given,” he said (quoted from RIA Novosti ) .
Peskov called the freezing of state assets illegal. “Such a deeply anti-Russian position of the Czech authorities, of course, causes bewilderment; we categorically reject such a position, do not accept it, and are now analyzing the situation,” the presidential press secretary emphasized.
The day before, the Czech government approved the freezing of Russian state assets in the country. The sanctions list included “Enterprises for managing assets abroad” of the Administration of the President of RUSSIA (FSUE “Goszagransobstvo”), the Noviny portal specified with reference to the Czech Foreign Ministry.
“Goszagranproperty” is engaged in the management of residential and non-residential real estate abroad, the repair and operation of foreign federal property, “while performing the functions of a customer, designer, contractor and operating organization.”
The organization also provides foreign federal property for rent for “housing, communal and socio-cultural purposes.”
“State Foreign Property” became the seventh entity on the Czech national anti-Russian sanctions list and the first legal entity.
