Volvo Cars and Jaguar Land Rover are cutting the number of their Russian employees, Kommersant reports, citing sources.
According to one of them, Jaguar Land Rover leaves only employees who will coordinate administrative interactions at the stage of closing the legal entity. At the same time, it is unclear whether the company will continue to support the service maintenance of its vehicles.
Another interlocutor of the newspaper claims that both companies are cutting 80% of the staff, with the exception of administrative staff.
According to a dealer source, Volvo will service its cars and recognize warranties. In addition, according to him, the company leaves the opportunity for dealers to access car diagnostic systems.
GM leaves RUSSIA. What will happen to the warranty and shipment of paid cars Auto
Volvo and Jaguar Land Rover stopped deliveries of their cars to Russia on March 1. At the same time, General Motors, Volkswagen and Daimler Truck made the same decision.
According to Kommersant, due to the imposed Western sanctions, the service of cars of foreign brands is difficult. Sources say that European customs do not release spare parts due to the fact that sanctions restrictions can be interpreted broadly. Under such conditions, distributors are ready to pay dealers for original spare parts imported by them as part of parallel imports, they argue. If distributors do not fulfill their warranty obligations to customers, they face bankruptcy, explains one of the sources.
