China imposed sanctions against European citizens and organizations

CHINA has imposed sanctions on ten EU citizens and four European companies for interfering in its internal affairs. This was reported on the website of the Chinese Foreign Ministry.

"The Chinese side has decided to impose sanctions on 10 individuals and 4 entities that grossly harm the country's sovereignty and interests, and maliciously spread lies and misinformation," the statement said.

Members of the European Parliament were blacklisted:

Reinhardt Butikofer from the Green Party, heads the European delegation for relations with China; Michael Galer from the European People's Party, holds the position of Vice-Head of Delegation to the Joint Parliamentary Assembly of the EU and the countries of Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific (ACP-EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly); Raphael Glucksmann of the Social Democratic Party, chairs a special committee to combat foreign interference in EU democratic processes; Ilhan Kyuchuk from the Bulgarian Movement for Rights and Freedoms, heads the delegation to the European-Turkish Joint Parliamentary Committee; Miriam Lexmann is from the Slovak Christian Democratic Movement and is on the foreign affairs committee.

Member of the Dutch Parliament Sjoerd Wimer Sjordsma, Member of the Belgian Parliament Samuel Kogolaty, Member of the Lithuanian Seim Dovile Shakaliene, as well as scientists Adrian Zentz from Germany and Bjorn Erden from Sweden were also included in the sanctions list.
