Canada has added four Russian banks to the sanctions list; the list is published on the website of the country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Ottawa's sanctions included:

Uralsib Bank; Zenit Bank; Rosbank; All-Russian Regional Development Bank; Interros holding.

Also subject to sanctions were the Severstal company, the Kurchatov Institute Research Center, the Experimental Design Bureau named after A.S. Yakovlev”, “Interros Invest” (total 29 legal entities).

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau previously announced that Canada intends to impose sanctions against 33 legal entities and individuals from Russia. The measures, he said, are designed to convince Russia to leave the territory of Ukraine.

Western countries began to tighten sanctions against Russia and introduce new restrictions from the end of February 2022 - after the start of a special military operation in Ukraine . Canada has since repeatedly announced new sanctions and tightened existing measures.
