CANADA has imposed new sanctions against nine Russians, according to the website of the country's government.

Restrictive measures affected:

the HEAD of Norilsk Nickel, Vladimir Potanin; the head of NOVATEK, Leonid Mikhelson; the founder of the Renova group, Viktor Vekselberg; the shareholder of Sibur Kirill Shamalov; ex-head of the board of directors of TMK Dmitry Pumpyansky and his wife Galina Pumpyanskaya; the main owner of Rusagro, Vadim Moshkovich; the head of the company "Marathon Group" Alexander Vinokurov; Head of the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Igor Kostyukov.

In addition, by another order, Canada included nine more citizens of Belarus in its sanctions lists. The list, among other things, included the Deputy Ministers of Defense of Belarus Andrei Zhuk, Andrei Burdyko and Sergei Simonenko.

As specified on the website of the Canadian government, those who fell under the sanctions will be prohibited from making transactions with any property in Canada and receiving debt financing.
