Russian authorities say reports of civilian deaths in Bucha are fake. The footage published by the media and the Ukrainian authorities was called a “staging” by the Russian Defense Ministry, adding that during the time when the city was controlled by the Russian military, “not a single local resident was injured.”
Canada has repeatedly tightened sanctions against Russia since late February. She banned entry to the Russian leadership - President Vladimir Putin, Foreign and Defense Ministers Sergei Lavrov and Sergei Shoigu. Patriarch Kirill, the former HEAD of Yandex Tigran Khudaverdyan, TV presenter Yekaterina Andreeva and the leadership of Roskomnadzor also fell under the restrictions.
Russian authorities consider Western sanctions illegal. “The response to such rudeness and obscurantism will be adequate and will not take long,” the Russian embassy in Canada said.
