The European Union for the first time introduced sectoral sanctions against Belarus at the end of June. Now they are joined by five more countries that are not members of the EU President of Belarus ALEXANDER LUKASHENKO

Five non-European Union states have joined the June 24 EU economic sanctions against Belarus. This was announced by EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell.

We are talking about North Macedonia, Montenegro and Albania, which are candidates for EU accession, as well as Iceland and Norway (part of the European free trade area).

“The European Union took note of this decision and welcomed it,” Borrell said.
