The head of the French Ministry of Finance announced the discussion of new EU sanctions against Russia

EU finance ministers are discussing strengthening sanctions against Russia, French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire said on BFMTV.

“Yes, there is still room for maneuver,” the minister said.

According to him, the issue of expanding restrictions could be discussed at a summit of EU heads of state chaired by French President Emmanuel Macron. Le Maire called the previously imposed sanctions effective.

The EU adopted the first package of sanctions against Russia on February 23. 351 State Duma deputies fell under the restrictions. In addition, 27 individuals and organizations fell under the sanctions. Among them are members of the government, banks, businessmen, the military.
