The EU will introduce measures against the Russian oil market and ban the sale of aircraft

The second package of EU sanctions includes restrictions on the Russian oil market, announced the HEAD of the European Commission (EC), Ursula von der Leyen.

“We are targeting the energy sector, a key area of ​​the economy that is especially beneficial for the Russian state,” the head of the EC said. Sanctions will hit the oil sector, because because of them "Russia will not be able to modernize its oil refineries."

In addition, the EU will impose a ban on the sale of aircraft and equipment to Russian airlines.

According to the head of the EC, the new measures may affect up to 70% of the Russian banking sector. The European Union intends to limit the country's access to technology, including semiconductors, and introduce visa restrictions. They will affect diplomats, "associated groups" and businessmen.
