The European Union has summoned Russia's Permanent Representative Vladimir Chizhov in connection with the imposition of Russian sanctions against eight EU citizens. This is reported by TASS with reference to the representative of the EU diplomatic service Peter Stano.

“We have invited the Permanent Representative of RUSSIA to meet with the Secretary General of the European External Action Service this afternoon,” he said.

According to Stano, the European Union also brought the issue of Russia's actions, including sanctions , to the meetings of the foreign ministers of the G7 countries in London, which will be held on May 4 and 5. “They will discuss how to proceed,” Stano concluded.

The European Union in March imposed personal sanctions due to the persecution of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny.
