
State Duma deputy from the "United Russia" and the owner of the company "Molvest" Arkady Ponomarev kept the property in the Spanish city of Alicante. He stated in an interview with Vesti Voronezh that he did not get rid of the seized property in case the country became the "Spanish SSR".
In 2021, the deputy declared three apartments in Alicante ranging from 151 to 178 square meters. m. However, in December 2022, information appeared that the property was frozen due to Ponomarev being included in the EU sanctions list.
The MP denied the freezing of his assets in Spain. According to him, his daughter can still stay in the apartments and the deputy does not intend to get rid of the property.
“Can't you imagine that in 50-100 years it will be the Spanish Soviet Socialist Republic? Is it possible to hope? I hope,” Ponomarev told the journalist.
Ponomarev came under EU sanctions in early March last year. Then the European Union imposed sanctions against all deputies of the State Duma.
