The Czech Republic imposed sanctions against the general DIRECTOR of the Tactical Missile Weapons Corporation (KTRV) Boris Obnosov and members of his family - daughter Olga Zorikova and son-in-law Rostislav Zorikov. The list is published on the website of the country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The justification for the restrictions states that Obnosov is involved in activities “that undermine or threaten the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine,” and as HEAD of KTRV, which produces weapons for the Russian army, “has long maintained close relations with senior Russian officials <. ..> which gives it a number of advantages.”
His daughter and son-in-law “derive personal benefit” from their relationship with Obnosov, in particular, they purchased several real estate properties and luxury cars, the Czech Foreign Ministry notes.
Being included in the sanctions list means that all three will be banned from entering the territory of the Czech Republic and all their property there will be frozen, writes iRozhlas. As reported by Seznam Zprávy, Rostislav Zorikov has had a permanent residence permit in this country since 2020, and he purchased his first apartment in Prague in 2018 or 2019. In May, the Financial and Analytical Office (FAU), the Czech Republic's control body, began an inspection of property associated with the Obnosov family, Czech Radio reported.
There are now six people on the Czech sanctions list. Previously, it included Patriarch Kirill, whose inclusion Minister Jan Lipavski explained as a justification for “Russian aggression” in Ukraine , as well as businessman Vladimir Yevtushenkov and his son Felix.
KTRV was formed on the basis of a presidential decree of January 24, 2002; it specializes in the production of missiles, guided bombs and air-, ground-, and sea-based weapons systems. In particular, the corporation produces multi-purpose guided missiles, anti-ship missiles Kh-31A, Kh-31AD, Kh-59MK, air-to-air missiles RVV-MD, R-27P, R-27EP, Uran-E, " Bastion" and other weapons. Obnosov has headed KTRV since March 13, 2003.
