The UK authorities will expand the list of goods prohibited for import from RUSSIA, it will include silver, wood products and high-quality products, including caviar. This was announced by the Minister of International Trade Anne-Marie Trevelyan and Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak, according to the website of the British government.

In addition, London will increase tariffs by 35% on imports from Russia and Belarus of goods worth about 130 million pounds ($170 million), including diamonds and rubber.

“We are taking every opportunity to increase pressure to isolate the Russian economy, and these further measures will tighten the screws, cutting off lucrative ways to finance the war machine,” Trevelyan said.

Sunak, in turn, expressed confidence that these measures will bring "economic pain" to the Russian authorities. Total import tariffs and bans on Russian goods will exceed £1bn ($1.3bn), he said.
