The EU may discuss imposing sanctions against members of the Israeli government following an attack by Israeli settlers on Palestinians in the village of Jit. This statement was made by the HEAD of the EU diplomatic service, Josep Borrell .
“We condemn the settler attacks in Jita aimed at terrorizing Palestinian civilians. “I confirm my intention to submit a proposal to the EU to impose sanctions against supporters of settler violence, including some members of the Israeli government,” he wrote on the social network X (formerly Twitter).
The attack on the Palestinian village of Jit in the West Bank on August 15 was reported by The New York Times.
Then dozens of Jewish settlers burst into the village, they set fire to houses and cars, threw stones and Molotov cocktails. Army units and border guards arrived at the scene and stopped the rioters.
