In the United States, it is believed that the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline can start working in a "couple of months", according to BLOOMBERG.
According to the agency, such data was presented by the Joe Biden administration in a quarterly report on Nord Stream 2, which was submitted to Congress in anticipation of new sanctions.
The State Department announced new sanctions due to Nord Stream 2 Politics
Earlier, Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said the US was imposing sanctions on two ships and one Russian-linked company involved in the pipeline project. Transadria will be sanctioned on the basis of the PEESA package (to protect the energy security of Europe) against the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, and its Marlin vessel "will be recognized as confiscated property." Another ship, against which sanctions will be imposed, is not named.
Bloomberg points out that in the US, Transadria is considered a shell Russian company registered in Cyprus.

The Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline was completed in September. Its construction was delayed due to US sanctions, as a result of which some of the foreign partners left the project.
Gazprom reported that the pipeline was ready for launch. To do this, Nord Stream 2 AG must obtain the approval of the German and then the European regulator. In Germany, the decision must be made before January 8, 2022, then it will be considered by the European Commission within two months.
