
The United States may agree on a package of anti-Russian sanctions in the event of Russia's invasion of Ukraine as early as this week, reports BLOOMBERG.
“We hope to discuss a couple of final points on which we need to reach agreement, and after that we can move forward,” said the author of the sanctions bill, Democratic Senator Robert Menendez.
According to Democrat Foreign Relations Committee member Chris Murphy, to complete the discussion it is necessary to decide whether sanctions should be imposed preemptively, before the actual invasion.
