Russia's losses due to the EU-agreed partial embargo on Russian oil will amount to about $22 billion a year, Bloomberg calculated.

However, the main part of the pipeline deliveries goes to Germany and Poland, which decided to refuse deliveries from Russia regardless of the decision of the EU. Another 1.57 million barrels per day (75% of all exports) went to the EU by sea.
As Bloomberg calculated, Russia's losses from the ban on offshore oil exports will amount to about $10 billion. it will be forced to reorient itself to the Asian market, where oil is already sold at a discount - at a price about $34 cheaper than the price of futures for Brent crude, the agency writes. .
Another $12 billion will be lost from the cessation of supplies along the northern branch of the Druzhba oil pipeline to Poland and Germany, Bloomberg calculated, based on the volume of deliveries in 2021 and the average price of Russian Urals oil in 2022 at $85 per barrel. At the same time, Russia will continue to earn about $6 billion from exports to Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic through the southern branches of Druzhba.

Earlier, the European Union agreed on a partial ban on the import of Russian oil as part of the sixth package of sanctions. According to the HEAD of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, thanks to the embargo, Russian oil supplies to the EU will be reduced by about 90% by the end of the year. She explained that the European Union received one-third of its raw materials through oil pipelines, while Poland and Germany decided to refuse any form of Russian oil supplies, so by the end of the year it will only enter the EU through the Druzhba pipeline. It accounts for 10% of all oil bought by the European Union from Russia.
