The US State Department has again warned companies involved in the construction of the Russian Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline of the risk of falling under US sanctions , Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said in a statement.
“Any company involved in the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline risks being subject to US sanctions and must stop work immediately,” Blinken said.
He recalled the words of US President Joe Biden, who called Nord Stream 2 a "bad deal" both for Germany and Ukraine, and for the allies and partners of the United States in Central and Eastern Europe.
In his opinion, the gas pipeline under construction "is a geopolitical project of Russia", the purpose of which is "the division of Europe and the weakening of European energy security."
