On Wednesday, May 31, Western countries will announce new measures aimed at countering "Russian disinformation" on the Web, as well as tightening controls on the EXPORT of technologies for the production of drones, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said at a joint press conference with the Prime Minister of Sweden Ulf Christersson.

On May 31, a meeting of the US- EU Trade and Technology Council will take place . Also on May 31 and June 1, an informal meeting of NATO foreign ministers will be held.

“Tomorrow we will announce new measures aimed at <...> counteracting Russian disinformation in order to protect human rights defenders on the Internet,” Blinken said.

Measures to tighten export controls target technologies that are being used to produce Iranian drones that the US Secretary of State claims are being used in the conflict in Ukraine .

"We will also discuss our joint efforts to combat economic coercion and non-market economic policies and practices," he added.

Kiev believes that Iran provides RUSSIA with military support and supplies it with weapons for use in hostilities in Ukraine. This is also stated by the G7 countries (Great Britain , Germany , Italy , CANADA , France , Japan and the usa).

Moscow and Tehran have repeatedly denied reports and statements about deliveries of Iranian drones to Russia and spoke about the lack of evidence. “As usual, everything is in the style of highly likely (“very likely”). They cannot give facts, and they don’t try,” Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said about the accusations of the West in December 2022.

In November 2022, the Iranian authorities admitted that they had delivered a limited number of drones to Russia, but they did so even before the start of hostilities.

Western countries have imposed sanctions against Iranian drone manufacturers. Ukraine also introduced restrictions against Tehran , and high-ranking military personnel were blacklisted.
