
The United States and the European Union are working in close coordination on new sanctions against Belarus. This was stated by White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki during a briefing broadcast on Twitter.
“We continue to work closely with our EU partners and other allies to hold the Lukashenko regime to account for the ongoing attack,” Psaki said.

Earlier, the head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell, announced the approval of the fifth package of sanctions against Belarus due to the aggravation on the Belarusian-Polish border. In addition, he confirmed that the EU Foreign Ministers decided to expand sanctions against Belarus for "organizing the influx of migrants" into the EU.
