ALEXANDER LUKASHENKO today criticized bankers for high salaries. “Bank employees must correspond to the level that has developed in the country in terms of wages and incomes,” the HEAD of state said, listening to a report on certain issues of credit and financial organizations. FINANCE.TUT.BY looked at the salaries of which other workers the president publicly spoke about.
Salaries in the banking sector should correspond to the prevailing level of salaries in the country, Alexander Lukashenko said. “That is, the salary must be earned, bankers always talk about it, and I support them in this. Across the country, "for nothing" should not be. This means that wages in the banking system must also be earned,” the president believes. - I would like the banking system not to be, I quote the people, “a bunch of fat cats” (this is not only the worker and the peasant, this is the whole intelligentsia). Bank employees must correspond to the level that has developed in the country in terms of wages and incomes.”
In Belarus, it is necessary to develop a clear system of remuneration for the heads of banks in the country, the president instructed. “I don't think that the head of a particular private or state bank works more and better than the chairman of the NATIONAL BANK. If so, then the president needs to think about it. But so far I see that this is not the case,” the head of state stressed.
At the same time, the president agreed that if the bank meets all the criteria, then its leadership should be encouraged. He instructed the National Bank to look again at the existing criteria and, if necessary, tighten some of them.
President to power engineers: “Getting fat at the expense of people’s money is unacceptable”On October 20, the President, during his speech at a republican seminar on improving and developing housing and communal services, demanded to figure out how power engineers form their tariffs and how much profit they lay in:
- You, Leonid Vasilievich Anfimov (Chairman of the State Control Committee), have identified the reserves of utility companies to reduce the cost of housing and communal services. But energy companies have a great influence on their cost. Have you watched how they form their tariffs, how much profit they lay in? Find out what salaries are set for them, for what they maintain their cool sanatoriums, bases, and so on,” the head of state said. - Fattening at the expense of people's money is unacceptable for anyone! And if such facts are revealed before your next clarification of tariffs, the minister should look for another job. He was appointed there in order to resolve these issues without a departmental approach, spread out the costs of his department and remove all excess fat. Until that happens."
President to hockey players: “Otherwise, everyone drives a Mercedes, but there is no result”At a meeting on the development of hockey in Belarus on May 25, the president said that good money should be paid only for a specific result.
“There will be no money until you give a normal product,” he said. - There will be a result - there will be a salary. You know my requirements. If you are ready today to earn money yourself, without government subsidies, pay as much as you want. But if you take people's money from the budget today, please work it out.
Alexander Lukashenko stressed that the advance payment for the game should be minimal, and further payments should be made only for the result.
- And then everyone drives a Mercedes, but there is no result. Therefore, set a normal salary for the game, and add for the result. And it is necessary to add substantially prize money and other things for the result in the domestic championship. Then they will play here,” the head of state said.
Back in 2014, the president spoke about the fact that the earnings of athletes, including hockey players, should be linked to their professional achievements. Then, as an example, the head of state commented on the situation with professional Belarusian hockey players. According to the president, he will increase the requirements from these athletes: “If there is a result, you will receive money; if there is no result, you will not get anything.” The president believes that the salaries of hockey players, and to a greater extent, officials of hockey clubs, are exorbitantly high.
President to scientists: “You need to pay more, but for the result”In early April of this year, at a meeting on the problems and prospects for the development of Belarusian science at the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko said that Belarusian scientists should receive more, but for the result.
According to Alexander Lukashenko, “money should not be given just like that”, they must be earned. The state, according to the president, is ready to finance science in greater volumes, because “the innovative way lies at the heart of the economic and social development of Belarus.”
At the same time, there should be no equalization in the remuneration of scientists. Alexander Lukashenko is sure that “we need to focus on paying more, but for the result.”
In September, Vladimir Gusakov , chairman of the presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus , said that a decree was being developed in Belarus to increase the salaries of scientists, he said today at a press conference.
- It is expected to increase the tariff rate by about 2 times, as well as differentiation of payment depending on the results. Thus, we will stimulate the productivity of scientists, support the desire for better results,” Vladimir Gusakov noted.
It is planned that the heads of scientific organizations will have the right to make decisions on the differentiation of wages. “For example, the head of the academic council will be able to decide on the establishment of different salaries for employees even in the same department, in the same laboratory, in the same position. Depending on the results of work, the salary may differ by 2 times or more,” Vladimir Gusakov emphasized.
Dismiss some officials, and raise the rest of the salaries at the expense of the dismissedAlexander Lukashenko demanded to reduce the size of the state apparatus and increase the salaries of the remaining officials at the expense of the dismissed. He stated this on June 22 last year at the All-Belarusian National Assembly.
“It is necessary that the executive committee [relatively speaking] not have 180 people, but maybe 25, but the smartest and most intelligent people who know production and work locally. Give all the savings to these 25. Maybe add something else. This is enough. But if decisions are made, they must be vertically strictly implemented,” the president said.
