Biden said about the "shaky" economy of Russia

The Russian economy is shattered after Western sanctions, US President Joe Biden said during his speech to Congress. The speech was posted on the White House website.

The HEAD of state called the start of Russia's military operation in Ukraine an attempt to "shake the foundations of the free world," but Russian President Vladimir Putin "seriously miscalculated" and "met a wall of power that he could not even imagine," Biden stressed: Putin met with resistance from outside Ukrainians, and from the West.

The President of the United States explained that Washington and its allies are imposing tough sanctions "pain Russia and support the Ukrainian people."

“The ruble has lost 30% of its value, the Russian stock market has lost 40% and trading has been suspended. The Russian economy is reeling, and only Putin is to blame,” the American leader said.

“Putin is now more isolated from the world than ever,” Biden said. The West, by contrast, "remains united," he said. The US President stressed that the conflict in Ukraine would weaken Russia, and make the rest of the world stronger.
