
Australia has imposed new sanctions on Russia, 45 Russian legal entities and individuals fell under them, said Foreign Minister Penny Wong.
“Today, Australia and our international partners imposed targeted sanctions on 45 entities and individuals of economic and strategic importance to Russia,” she wrote on Twitter.
The website of the head of the Australian Foreign Ministry specifies that 35 organizations of the Russian defense, technology and energy sectors, as well as 10 individuals, including “high-ranking military personnel in Belarus,” fell under the sanctions.
Among those who fell under the restrictions are First Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov and Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko, children's ombudsman Tatyana Moskalkova and Secretary of the United Russia General Council, First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Andrei Turchak. This number also included the general director of the Kalashnikov concern, Vladimir Lepin, and the general director of the Russian Helicopters holding, Nikolai Kolesov. The holding itself was also included in the sanctions list (the Kalashnikov concern has been on the list since February 24).

According to the Australian authorities, over 1.1 thousand people and organizations are already under restrictions, including the heads of Russian ministries, the Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus' Kirill, the general director of Channel One Konstantin Ernst, the philosopher Alexander Dugin and other political and public figures and businessmen who supported the military operation.
In addition, in December last year, Canberra joined the price ceiling for Russianoil at the level of $60 per barrel set by the G7 countries and the European Union.
The Russian authorities consider Western sanctions illegitimate, and also condemn countries that supply weapons to Ukraine.
