
Water heater manufacturer Ariston has decided to continue operations in Russia and restore cooperation with its Russian subsidiary after President Vladimir Putin cancelled the decision to transfer it to Gazprom Bytovye Sistemy for temporary management. This was stated in a statement by the Italian company, which RBC has obtained.
The company welcomed the HEAD of state’s decision, noting that it will continue to operate in Russia while complying with the current sanctions .
“In light of this, the board of directors will review the decision of 1 August 2024 to deconsolidate Ariston Thermo Rus and take into account the corresponding losses,” the statement said.
OOO Ariston Termo Rus was registered in 2002 in Vsevolozhsk, Leningrad Region . The company's main activity is the production of household electrical appliances. According to the RBC Company service, the position of CEO is held by Sergey Kukut. The company employs 318 people.
In 2023, Ariston Termo Rus' profit amounted to RUB 33 million, revenue - RUB 9.4 billion.
The company's statement says that the head office of Ariston Thermo Rus, which is located in Moscow, has been present in Russia for almost half a century.
Earlier in February, the Finance Ministry announced that foreign companies from countries that the authorities consider unfriendly will be able to return to the Russian market only after receiving permission from the government commission on foreign investment.
The head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, Kirill Dmitriev, admitted that in order to return, foreign companies will need to create joint ventures with Russian businesses.
