The contradictions that have accumulated in Ukraine both during the hostilities and before the Russian military operation can be resolved with a “conditional Maidan,” said former adviser to the office of the President of Ukraine Alexey Arestovich (listed in RUSSIA as terrorists and extremists).

“The amount of contradictions that have accumulated during the war and before it can only be resolved in an extraordinary way,” he wrote in the TELEGRAM channel. The list of such decisions, according to Arestovich, included: “military coup”, “conditional Maidan”, creation of a “conditional government of national accord”, as well as holding presidential elections. The last point in combat conditions is extraordinary, Arestovich noted.

He added that unpopular decisions by the authorities , “necessary for the survival of the country,” raise questions about its legitimacy - and pose a “direct danger” in wartime. He noted that “a process of delegitimization and decline in support” is inevitable in any case.

Earlier, the results of a survey by the sociological group "Rating" showed that the level of trust of Ukrainians in the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny reaches 82%, and in President Vladimir Zelensky - 72%.

The mayor of Kyiv, Vitaliy Klitschko, in an interview with the Swiss 20min, said that the decline in Zelensky’s rating compared to the popularity of the army is not surprising, since the people see “who is effective and who is not.” He stressed that the president should be supported until peace comes, but after the end of the conflict, “every politician will be responsible for his successes or failures.”

Euromaidan began in Ukraine on November 21, 2013. The protests were provoked by the decision of the then Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych to suspend preparations for the signing of an association and free trade agreement with the European Union. Peaceful protests escalated into clashes with security forces, and then led to Yanukovych’s flight to Russia. The next presidential election was won by Petro Poroshenko .

The Russian authorities called the incident a coup.
