“The closure of Turkey will have a negative impact on the work of the travel agencies of the republic, as this is a mass destination. To date, at least 50% of companies have closed on the Tatarstan market. The later air links with Turkey open, the more companies will not have the opportunity to earn money. The situation can be dangerous because many market participants will simply go bankrupt, and our residents will not fly anywhere at all, ”said Ramil Miftakhov, HEAD of the Association of Travel Agencies of the Republic of Tatarstan, general DIRECTOR of the Persona Grata travel company, in an interview with RBC Tatarstan. 

The day before, the operational headquarters for combating the spread of CORONAVIRUS announced that  RUSSIA was extending the ban on air travel with Turkey and Tanzania until June 21 inclusive due to the difficult epidemiological situation with covid-19 in these countries. In the spring, flights were suspended from April 15 to June 1.

Miftakhov suggested that June 21 may not be the last date for the ban on flights to Turkey. In May-June last year, he said, there was a similar situation, and tourists were able to go on vacation at the end of August. 

“Those tourists who have already booked Turkey should postpone their vacation to a later date. Now nothing else needs to be done, since the operators themselves cancel applications and reschedule all their trips to the dates when the direction opens, ”he said, adding that trips must be made this year, since no one can predict the situation next year .
