The occupancy of beds for patients with coronavirus in the region has reached 90%

The bed fund for patients with coronavirus in the Novosibirsk region is 91% full. 4.7 thousand patients were hospitalized with a diagnosis of COVID-19 and suspected of it, the regional operational headquarters said in a statement.

The press service of the regional Ministry of Health clarified to TASS that the total number of beds for patients with coronavirus is 5.2 thousand. At the end of June, the department increased the number of beds for those infected with the infection by 12% to 4.6 thousand beds due to an increase in the incidence in the region .

Elena Aksenova, Deputy Minister of Health of the Novosibirsk Region, said yesterday that the number of people in the region vaccinated against COVID-19 had reached 15,000 a day.

According to Aksenova, at the moment the main task for the region is to achieve herd immunity by September this year. Currently, more than 320,000 people have received both components of the vaccine.

She also noted that in the Novosibirsk region there is an increase in the incidence of coronavirus among children, adolescents and young people. Aksenova explained that, first of all, this dynamics is due to the fact that many young patients have not developed immunity from coronavirus, since most of them have not yet had time to recover from the first and second waves.

On Monday, at an operational meeting in the government of the region, the head of the regional department of Rospotrebnadzor, Alexander Shcherbatov, drew attention to the increase in the incidence of coronavirus by 29% over the past week, but the growth rate slowed down slightly. According to him, this indicates active work with the population and enterprises on preventive measures.
