
In Bashkiria, ten patients have died from CORONAVIRUS infection over the past day. The total number of victims of the pandemic in the republic has reached 4575, according to the regional operational headquarters for combating covid-19 .
The day before, another 235 residents of Bashkiria were diagnosed with coronavirus. A total of 125,319 people have been infected since the start of the infection. 116,316 patients managed to cope with the infection; over the past day, 278 people have been discharged with recovery.
In Bashkiria, the campaign for mass vaccination of the population against coronavirus continues. 2.25 million people were vaccinated with the first component of the vaccine, 2.12 million residents of the republic completed vaccination. As RBC Ufa reported, the authorities of the region have postponed the deadline for achieving herd immunity to COVID-19 from the beginning of February to the middle of the month. This is due to the slowdown in the vaccination campaign during the long New Year holidays.
According to Rospotrebnadzor, six cases of infection with a new strain of coronavirus "omicron" have been detected in the republic. Three cases are imported - infected arrived from Tanzania and Turkey, three more patients did not leave the region during the incubation period. Earlier, Alexander Dragan, an open data analyst, predicted on the basis of world and Russian statistics that an explosive growth of the omicron-strain disease in the republic should be expected at the end of January.
The HEAD of the region, Radiy Khabirov, at the last meeting of the anti-covid headquarters on Friday, January 14, noted that the republic should be ready for a new wave of morbidity. He instructed to provide for a reserve of beds in covid hospitals, re-deploy the work of volunteer headquarters and strengthen control over compliance with sanitary and epidemiological requirements.
