Doctors warn about the dangers of smoking after vaccination against COVID-19

Smoking and drinking ALCOHOL in the first days after being vaccinated against CORONAVIRUS can potentially cause blood clots in the body. This was told by the DIRECTOR of the Khodanova immunocorrection center, general practitioner Lyudmila Lapa, TASS reports.

According to her, when smoking, as well as when drinking alcohol, vasospasms and thickening of the blood occur. She believes that, as with infection with covid-19 or other viruses, there are risks of sudden thrombosis. “To exclude them, you can not drink [alcohol] and smoke,” she explained.

The DOCTOR also recommended that smokers take anticoagulants after vaccination, which reduce the activity of the blood coagulation system and prevent the formation of blood clots.

Pulmonologist Alexei Nikishenkov added that smoking after vaccination can become additional stress for the body and exacerbate possible side effects from the vaccine.

“After vaccination, immunity begins to work actively, while a person may experience a flu-like syndrome: fever up to fever, intoxication, weakness, headache, loss of appetite, and so on. Of course, external intoxication of the body through smoking, inhalation of harmful substances is an additional stress for the body, ”he explained and added that this warning also applies to electronic cigarettes.

The department added that smoking contributes to the deterioration of lung function, so it is more difficult for smokers to fight respiratory disease. The Ministry of HEALTH has previously denied the fact that smoking can reduce the likelihood of contracting COVID-19. Moreover, Oksana Drapkina, director of the National Medical Research Center for Therapy and Preventive Medicine, pointed out that smoking leads to the development of diseases that can complicate the course of the disease “up to a lethal prognosis.”
